Sheridan College, formally The Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, is a public college with three campuses in the Greater Toronto Area: Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville. It opened in 1967 and now teaches about 26,500 students, and it is internationally known for animation, illustration, film and design alongside business, applied computing and engineering technology.

Why do Nepali students choose Sheridan College?

Because it is a large Greater Toronto Area college known worldwide for animation and design, with strong applied technology, AI and business programs, and its own bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

• World-known animation and design. Sheridan’s Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design at Trafalgar Campus teaches the Honours Bachelor of Animation and 3D Animation and Emerging Technologies, Honours Bachelor of, both PGWP-aligned bachelor’s degrees, plus the Master of Animation, Games, and Immersive Experiences.
• Applied technology and AI. Davis Campus programs such as Computer Programming, Computer Engineering Technician – Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Security are PGWP-aligned and lead into Sheridan’s cybersecurity and IT graduate certificates.
• Graduate certificates for bachelor’s holders. If you already hold a bachelor’s degree from TU or another Nepali university, one-year graduate certificates such as Artificial Intelligence Development and Applications or Supply Chain Management – Logistics Automation are quick routes to a Canadian credential. Check each program’s PGWP status first, since several popular business graduate certificates are not on Sheridan’s list.
• Study in the Greater Toronto Area. Sheridan’s three campuses are all close to Toronto, Canada’s largest city and job market. Rent is higher than in smaller cities, so plan your budget early.

Where are Sheridan College’s campuses?

Sheridan has three campuses in three Ontario cities: Davis Campus in Brampton (the largest and original campus), Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga (home of the Pilon School of Business) and Trafalgar Campus in Oakville (animation, arts and design).

Sheridan has no private partner (curriculum-licensing) campus; every campus above is Sheridan’s own. A few intakes are also offered at a fourth site, Hazel McCallion – Erin Meadows, close to the main Mississauga campus; check your program’s own page for its exact campus and intake before you apply.

How much does Sheridan College cost for international students?

First-year tuition is about CAD 14,700 to 22,100 for most programs starting in 2026/27, depending on the program and credential.

Its media, animation and music programs cost significantly more: the Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance is about CAD 36,100 for year one, and several animation degrees and graduate certificates run CAD 24,000 to 29,900. Tuition doesn’t include program or ancillary fees, and international students are automatically enrolled in mandatory Guard.me health insurance (about CAD 580 for a full year).

If your study permit is refused, Sheridan refunds your fees in full, less a CAD 200 administrative fee. Submit IRCC’s official refusal letter with a service request by the 10th day of classes; a deferral that can’t be accommodated is refunded on the same terms. Your CAD 2,000 tuition deposit is otherwise non-refundable.

When are Sheridan College’s intakes?

Sheridan mainly starts programs in September, January and May, but each program sets its own intakes for international students. On 28 September 2026, most diploma and graduate certificate programs were open for January 2027, and several for May and September 2027.

For example, Computer Programming and Electrical Engineering Technician take international students in January, May and September 2027. Artificial Intelligence Development and Applications and Cloud Security open in January 2027. Practical Nursing runs May and September 2027 and January 2028, and the Master of Animation, Games, and Immersive Experiences opens in November 2026 and November 2027.

Can you work while studying at Sheridan and after you graduate?

Yes. You can work up to 24 hours a week off campus while classes are on, and many Sheridan programs lead to a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), but not all of them.

For the PGWP, the rules depend on your credential:

• Bachelor’s and master’s degrees, such as Sheridan’s Honours Bachelor of Computer Science or the Master of Animation, Games, and Immersive Experiences, have no field-of-study requirement, but graduates need an English result of at least CLB 7.
• Diplomas, advanced diplomas and graduate certificates must be in an eligible field of study if you applied for your study permit on or after 1 November 2024. Sheridan marks each program on its PGWP-aligned programs list (updated 13 April 2026).
• College graduates also need an English test result of at least CLB 5 in all four skills when they apply for the PGWP.

Sheridan also reminds students that at least half of the program must be taken in class. Programs such as Accounting, Business; the Business diploma; Human Resources Management and Personal Support Worker are not on Sheridan’s PGWP-aligned list even though they take international students, so check your exact program before you apply. Which scholarships can Nepali students get at Sheridan?

New international students automatically get a Sheridan International Entrance Scholarship of CAD 2,000 to 5,000, depending on the length of the program, paid in two instalments during your first year.

How the entrance scholarship works:

• Amount: CAD 2,000 for a 1-year certificate or graduate certificate, 3,000 for a 2-year diploma, graduate certificate or master’s degree, 4,000 for a 3-year advanced diploma or degree and 5,000 for a 4-year degree.
• Who can get it: international students starting Year 1, Semester 1 of an eligible full-time program. The Bachelor of Animation and Practical Nursing programs are not eligible.
• What you have to do: nothing extra. There is no separate application.
• When: paid in two instalments during your first year of study; the exact amount and schedule are confirmed on your Letter of Acceptance.

What do you need to get into Sheridan College from Nepal?

Sheridan doesn’t publish Nepal-specific percentages; each program sets its own admission requirements, compared against the Ontario Grade 12 course list, plus IELTS 6.0 or 6.5 depending on the level.

IELTS 6.0 with no band under 5.5 (or PTE 58) covers most certificates and diplomas; degrees and graduate certificates need IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0 (or PTE 60). Computer Programming, for example, asks for Grade 12 English and Grade 12 Math, compared using the average of your six highest senior-level credits. Where do Sheridan students live?

Sheridan Residence has suites for about 824 students at Trafalgar Campus and 386 at Davis Campus; there is no residence at Hazel McCallion.
