The essentials at a glance

Sheridan College offers more than 100 programs to international students, from one-year certificates to bachelor's degrees and one master's degree, with animation and design, computing, AI and business among its most popular areas for Nepali students.

Which Sheridan programs can Nepali students apply to?

Sheridan offers more than 100 programs across five Faculties. Of the 58 programs checked in the areas most popular with Nepali students, all take international applications, and most had at least one open intake on 28 September 2026.

The programs come in six levels:

  • Certificates (usually 1 year) and diplomas (2 years), which you can join straight after NEB +2.
  • Advanced diplomas (3 years), also after +2.
  • Bachelor’s degrees (3 to 4 years), after +2 with stronger grades.
  • Graduate certificates (usually 1 year), for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree or diploma.
  • One master’s degree, the Master of Animation, Games, and Immersive Experiences.

Each Sheridan program page shows its own Start date / Campus / Status table, with separate rows for domestic and international applicants (Available, Opening soon, Closed or Wait List). Check your exact program’s table before you apply, since status changes by term and campus.

Which Sheridan programs are PGWP eligible?

All Sheridan bachelor’s and master’s degrees are PGWP-aligned with no field-of-study restriction. Among the diplomas, advanced diplomas and graduate certificates, 29 of the 38 programs in the table below are on Sheridan’s PGWP-aligned list; several popular business and health programs are not.

If you applied for your study permit on or after 1 November 2024, a diploma, advanced diploma or graduate certificate leads to a Post-Graduation Work Permit only if Sheridan lists it as PGWP-aligned. You also need CLB 5 in English for college credentials or CLB 7 for degrees, and you must take at least half of the program in class. Sheridan shows its aligned programs on its PGWP-aligned programs list (updated 13 April 2026).

These popular programs are open to international students but are not on Sheridan’s PGWP-aligned list:

If you want to work in Canada after you graduate, pick a program from the table below or check its own page’s PGWP note first. Our PGWP guide for Nepali students explains the rules.

Which Sheridan programs are popular with Nepali students?

The table shows Sheridan’s programs in the course areas most popular with Nepali and Indian students, up to two per area, with each one’s credential, length and campus.

Programs are grouped by course area, with PGWP-aligned and open-intake programs listed first within each area (see the PGWP section above for which ones qualify). Sheridan mostly starts programs in September, January and May, but each program sets its own intakes, so check the program’s own page for its exact upcoming start date and status.

Fees vary a lot by program, from about CAD 14,700 for most diplomas to CAD 36,100 for the priciest animation and music degrees. See our Sheridan College profile for the overall range in NPR. Check the full-time tuition fees by program page for your exact program.

What do you need for each program level?

Sheridan doesn’t publish Nepal-specific percentages: certificates and diplomas need IELTS 6.0, degrees and graduate certificates need IELTS 6.5, and each program compares your grades against its own Ontario Grade 12 requirement.

  • Certificates and diplomas: IELTS 6.0 with no band under 5.5, or PTE 58. Programs such as Computer Programming ask for Grade 12 English and Math.
  • Advanced diplomas and bachelor’s degrees: IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0, or PTE 60, once you’re at degree level; most advanced diplomas still use the 6.0 tier. Animation and design programs also ask for a portfolio.
  • Graduate certificates and the master’s: IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0, or PTE 60, and usually a related diploma or degree with a minimum GPA, such as Computer Systems Technician – Cyber Security’s 3.0 program GPA requirement.

To see where your +2 grades stand, convert your NEB GPA to a percentage with our NEB GPA calculator. Program-by-program examples, documents and the application steps are in our Sheridan admissions guide.

How do you choose the right Sheridan program?

Start with your background and your plan after graduation, then check the program’s PGWP status, open intakes and campus on Sheridan’s own program page before you apply.

  • Coming from +2? Look at diplomas, advanced diplomas and bachelor’s degrees. A three-year advanced diploma such as Architectural Technology – Sustainable Design gives a longer PGWP than a two-year diploma.
  • Already hold a bachelor’s degree? A one-year graduate certificate in a field related to your degree, such as Artificial Intelligence Development and Applications after a computing degree, is the quickest route.
  • Want Sheridan’s signature strength? Its animation, design and film programs at Trafalgar Campus are internationally known, and most are PGWP-aligned bachelor’s or master’s degrees.
  • Check the campus. Technology and health programs are mostly at Davis, business at Hazel McCallion, and animation, arts and design at Trafalgar.

Frequently asked questions about Sheridan programs

Yes, one: the Master of Animation, Games, and Immersive Experiences. It runs about two years (five semesters) at Trafalgar Campus, was open for November 2026 and November 2027 on 28 September 2026, is PGWP-aligned and costs about CAD 29,870 in tuition for year one.

No. On 28 September 2026 it was not on Sheridan's PGWP-aligned list, and neither was the general Business diploma. If you plan to work in Canada after graduating, check Sheridan's graduate certificates in finance, data analytics or IT instead, several of which are aligned.

Several programs in the popular-course table were open for May 2027, including Computer Programming, Applied Data Analytics and Visualization, Electrical Engineering Technician, CNC & Precision Machining programs, Early Childhood Education and Practical Nursing.

Yes, and it's one of Sheridan's best-known areas. The Honours Bachelor of Animation and 3D Animation and Emerging Technologies, Honours Bachelor of, are both PGWP-aligned bachelor's degrees at Trafalgar Campus, alongside graduate certificates such as Computer Animation, which is not on the PGWP list.

Sheridan's international program table on this page lists only on-campus programs, because online study doesn't lead to a study permit or a PGWP: Sheridan requires at least half of the program in class. For a PGWP, choose an in-person or hybrid program at one of Sheridan's three campuses.

Check with Sheridan's international advisers before you switch. Studying a different program from the one on your original letter of acceptance can affect your PGWP eligibility, and the new program should also be on Sheridan's PGWP-aligned list if you want to keep that route open.
