This guide is for Nepali students applying to Sheridan College in the Greater Toronto Area. It covers the acceptance rate, the grades and English scores you need, the documents to prepare in Nepal and each step from application to study permit. What is Sheridan College’s acceptance rate?

Sheridan College doesn’t publish an acceptance rate. Percentages quoted on other websites are outside estimates, not official numbers.

What decides your offer is whether you meet your program’s academic and English requirements, and whether seats are still open. Sheridan says admission to its programs is competitive: meeting the minimum requirements doesn’t guarantee a seat, and eligible applicants are compared on their previous academic achievement, usually the average of their six highest senior-level credits, from highest to lowest. Applying early, with a complete file, gives you the best chance before a program’s seats fill.

What grades do you need from Nepal?

Sheridan doesn’t publish Nepal-specific percentages. Each program sets its own requirements, compared against the Ontario Grade 12 course list, and international applicants must meet the course equivalencies of the Canadian admission requirements.

Examples from Sheridan’s own program pages:

• Computer Programming (diploma): Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U) and Grade 12 Math (C or U), or equivalent; compared using the average of your six highest senior-level credits.
• Accounting, Business (diploma): an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
• Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing (bridging route): a two-year Ontario Practical Nursing diploma with a minimum 75% (3.3) cumulative program GPA, in a competitive, GPA-based selection.
• Graduate certificates (example: Computer Systems Technician – Cyber Security): a related diploma with a minimum 3.0 program GPA, or about 65% average in your core courses.

If you don’t meet a program’s requirements, Sheridan may invite you to pre-admission testing in math and English, or advise you toward a related program.

What English scores does Sheridan College accept?

IELTS 6.0 with no band under 5.5 for certificates and diplomas, and IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0 for degrees, graduate certificates and the master’s. Tests must be less than two years old.

The Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing uses the higher, degree-level scores for every test it accepts, with no exceptions. Sheridan also accepts CAEL, Cambridge English, iTEP Academic-Plus and LanguageCert Academic. If your score is short, you can start at Sheridan’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program: completing its highest level, Level 5, gives conditional entry to a diploma, degree or graduate certificate. Which documents do you need from Nepal?

The photo and signature pages of your passport, your NEB Grade XI and XII transcripts and completion certificate, and an English test result, with a notarized English translation of anything not already in English.

• A copy of the photo and signature pages of your valid passport. If you don’t have one yet, see getting a Nepali passport for study abroad.
• Your Grade XI and XII academic transcript from the National Examinations Board and your school completion certificate. Our guide explains how to get transcripts in Nepal from NEB, TU and other boards.
• For graduate certificates: transcripts for all years of your bachelor’s degree or diploma, and the degree or diploma certificate.
• A notarized, official English translation of any document that isn’t already in English, merged with the original into a single PDF.
• Your IELTS, PTE, TOEFL or Duolingo score report.
• Anything extra your program asks for, such as a portfolio for an animation or design program; instructions appear in your Applicant Portal after you apply.

How do you apply to Sheridan College, step by step?

You apply on Sheridan’s own International Application Portal, not OCAS. After an offer, you accept it and pay your fees in the Applicant Portal, and Sheridan then issues your LOA and PAL for the study permit.

1. Choose your program and check program availability and admission requirements on your program’s own page.
2. Prepare your documents from the list above.
3. Apply online and pay the application fee through Sheridan’s International Application Portal using a credit card.
4. Submit your documents within the online application or through your Applicant Portal, with a notarized English translation merged into a single PDF where needed.
5. Get your offer. Sheridan communicates decisions by email; monitor your status and any outstanding requirements in your Applicant Portal.
6. Accept and pay. Accept your offer and pay your non-refundable CAD 2,000 tuition deposit and first-semester fees. To send tuition from a Nepali bank you need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Education; see how to apply for an NOC in Nepal.
7. Get your letter of acceptance (LOA) and Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL). Sheridan says it is actively allocating PALs to incoming international students. Read what a PAL is and who needs one.
