Fanshawe College

Fanshawe College is a public college in London, Ontario, founded in 1967. It is one of the largest colleges in Canada, with about 21,000 full-time students at its main London Campus and more than 200 programs, from one-year certificates to honours bachelor’s degrees.

Why do Nepali students choose Fanshawe College?

Because it is one of Canada’s largest public colleges, with strong IT, AI, data, supply chain, health and engineering programs on one big campus in London, Ontario, a smaller and cheaper city than Toronto.

• IT, AI and data. Graduate certificates such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Data Analytics are on Fanshawe’s PGWP-aligned list. The AI program is for international students only and ends with a paid co-op work term.
• Graduate certificates for bachelor’s holders. If you hold a bachelor’s degree from TU or another Nepali university, a one-year graduate certificate such as Supply Chain Management – Logistics or Health Care Administration Management is a quick route to a Canadian credential. Check the PGWP status first: Human Resources Management and Project Management are offered online only.
• Health, engineering and trades after +2. Practical Nursing, Pharmacy Technician, Civil Engineering Technology and Electromechanical Engineering Technology are PGWP-aligned and open to international students, and many technology programs include co-op.
• A student city. London has more than 500,000 people and over 45,000 college and university students. Rent is usually lower than in Toronto, which helps if you plan to work part time.

Where are Fanshawe College’s campuses?

Fanshawe’s main campus is in London, Ontario, where almost all international programs are taught; it also has a London Downtown Campus and regional campuses in St. Thomas, Simcoe, Woodstock and Clinton.

All of these are Fanshawe’s own campuses. Aviation programs are taught at Fanshawe’s school at the London airport, and the Huron/Bruce sites in Clinton run a few diplomas. Regional campuses are small towns, so check your program’s campus on its own page before you apply, because Fanshawe doesn’t allow a campus change later. How much does Fanshawe College cost for international students?

Tuition for the first two terms is about CAD 16,100 to 17,400 for most programs in 2026/27, or about CAD 17,700 to 20,000 once compulsory fees are added.

A few programs cost more, such as Practical Nursing (about CAD 20,200 in tuition for the first two terms) and Advanced Filmmaking (about CAD 27,500). The compulsory fees include a CAD 375 International Recovery Fee each term. The Alumo health insurance plan is mandatory and billed with your fees.

If your study permit is refused, fill in Fanshawe’s online withdrawal and refund form within 10 business days of the start of the semester and upload the refusal letter. Fanshawe refunds your fees minus an administration fee of at least CAD 250. Other first-term refunds, such as a change of mind, lose CAD 2,300, so read the withdrawal and refund policy before you pay.

When are Fanshawe College’s intakes?

Fanshawe starts programs in September, January and May, but each program sets its own intakes. Right now, 53 programs are open to international students for January 2027 and 28 for May 2027, and most programs list September 2027.

For example, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Analytics and Supply Chain Management – Logistics are open for January and May 2027. Computer Programming and Analysis and Civil Engineering Technology are open for January 2027, while Practical Nursing and the honours bachelor’s degrees start only in September. Seats are limited, so a program can close before its start date.

Aim to apply 9 to 12 months before your start date so there is time for the offer, the deposit, the PAL, your study permit and travel. Can you work while studying at Fanshawe and after you graduate?

Yes. You can work up to 24 hours a week off campus while classes are on, and many Fanshawe programs lead to a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), but not all of them.

For the PGWP, the rules depend on your credential:

• Bachelor’s degrees, such as the Honours Bachelor of Commerce or the Honours Bachelor of Science (Nursing), have no field-of-study requirement, and all nine Fanshawe honours degrees are on its list. Degree graduates need an English result of at least CLB 7.
• Diplomas, advanced diplomas and graduate certificates must be in an eligible field of study if you applied for your study permit on or after 1 November 2024. Fanshawe keeps a list of PGWP-aligned programs with each program’s CIP code; it has 94 programs.
• College graduates also need an English test result of at least CLB 5 in all four skills when they apply for the PGWP.

At least half of the program must be taken in class, and online study doesn’t count. Popular programs such as the Business, Business – Accounting and Business – Marketing diplomas are not on the list, and Human Resources Management and Project Management are offered online only. Which scholarships can Nepali students get at Fanshawe?

New international students get Fanshawe’s Academic Entrance Scholarship, CAD 2,000 off the first term’s tuition for on-campus programs, currently for intakes up to January 2028.

How the entrance scholarship works:

• Amount: CAD 2,000 for a post-secondary program, CAD 500 for English for Academic Purposes, or up to CAD 2,500 if you are admitted to both.
• Who can get it: new international students admitted to an eligible full-time program. Online programs are not eligible.
• What you have to do: nothing extra to apply, because Fanshawe considers you automatically at admission and sends a scholarship letter with your offer. You must pay the tuition deposit within 30 days of the offer, or the scholarship is withdrawn.
• When: for new students starting in January 2027, May 2027, September 2027 or January 2028. The award comes off your first-term fees once the deposit is paid.

What do you need to get into Fanshawe College from Nepal?

Fanshawe accepts the NEB +2 (or any 10+2) certificate for diplomas and degrees, and a completed diploma or degree for graduate certificates; you also need IELTS 6.0 for diplomas or 6.5 for degrees and graduate certificates.

Fanshawe doesn’t publish a Nepal minimum percentage, so each program’s required subjects decide. Computer Programming and Analysis needs Grade 12 English and Math, while Practical Nursing needs at least 65 in English, Biology, Chemistry and Math plus IELTS 7.0. PTE is 53 for diplomas and 59 for degrees and graduate certificates.

Where do Fanshawe College students live?

Fanshawe’s London Campus has 1,610 residence beds: 1,214 in apartment-style suites in Falcon, Peregrine and Merlin Houses, and 396 in the Kestrel Court townhouses.

International students get a residence application form with their Letter of Admission, and rooms go first-come, first-served, so apply early. A traditional residence room costs about CAD 10,300 for the 8-month year, including a mandatory CAD 1,200 meal plan.
