Quick answer

The essentials at a glance

Centennial College doesn't publish an acceptance rate; your offer depends on meeting your program's grade and English requirements and applying while international seats are open.

You need IELTS 6.0 (no band under 5.5) for most diplomas or 6.5 (no band under 6.0) for graduate certificates and degrees, and you apply on Centennial's own ApplyCentennial portal with your transcripts and passport.

Key takeaways

Main points from this page

  • Centennial has no official acceptance rate; percentages on other websites are outside estimates.
  • Your NEB +2 counts as the Ontario high school diploma equivalent; programs add subject rules, such as 60% to 70% in Math, Biology and Chemistry for Pharmacy Technician.
  • English: IELTS 6.0 or PTE 51 for diplomas; IELTS 6.5 or PTE 60 for graduate certificates and degrees. TOEFL, Duolingo and CAEL are also accepted.
  • You apply on ApplyCentennial, not OCAS, and can choose up to two programs in one application.
  • After your Letter of Acceptance you pay the CAD 2,000 deposit, receive your PAL and then apply for your study permit.

This guide is for Nepali students applying to Centennial College in Toronto, Ontario. It covers the acceptance rate, the grades and English scores you need, the documents to prepare in Nepal and each step from application to study permit. For programs, campuses, fees and scholarships, see our Centennial College profile.

What is Centennial College’s acceptance rate?

Centennial College doesn’t publish an acceptance rate. Percentages on other websites are outside estimates, not official numbers.

What decides your offer is simpler: whether you meet your program’s academic and English requirements, and whether seats are still open for international students in your intake. Some programs are closed to international applicants because of limited capacity or licensing rules, so check that your program lists your intake as “Available” before you apply. A complete application sent early gives you the best chance.

What grades do you need from Nepal?

Centennial accepts the NEB Higher Secondary Certificate (+2) as the equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Each program then adds its own subject requirements; there is no single minimum GPA for the whole college.

  • Diplomas and advanced diplomas (after +2): most ask for Grade 12 English and often Grade 11 or 12 Math, or an equivalent. Pharmacy Technician is more specific: English at 60%, Math at 60% to 70% and both Biology and Chemistry at 60% to 70%, depending on the course level.
  • Graduate certificates (after a bachelor’s degree or diploma): you need a completed diploma or degree. Construction Project Management, for example, accepts a diploma, advanced diploma or degree in any discipline, followed by a transcript and resume review.

Your NEB results are assessed against these requirements, so it helps to know your percentage: convert your NEB GPA to a percentage with our NEB GPA calculator. After you are accepted into a certificate or diploma program, Centennial also asks you to take a Placement Skills Assessment in English, and sometimes Math or Science, to place you in the right first-semester courses.

What English scores does Centennial College accept?

IELTS 6.0 with no band under 5.5 for certificates and diplomas, and IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0 for graduate certificates, degrees, fast-track programs and some advanced diplomas. PTE, TOEFL, Duolingo and CAEL are also accepted.

Program levelIELTS AcademicPTE AcademicTOEFL iBTDuolingo
Certificate or diploma6.0 (no band under 5.5)5167 (Reading 16, Writing 23)105 to 114
Fast-track and some advanced diplomas6.5 (no band under 6.0)5881 (Reading 19, Writing 23)125+
Graduate certificate or degree6.5 (no band under 6.0)6081 (Reading 19, Writing 23)125+

A program’s “Program Outline” tab shows whether it starts at the higher English level. Pharmacy Technician, Practical Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technician and a few other health programs set higher scores: Pharmacy Technician asks for IELTS 7.0 in reading, listening and speaking and 6.5 in writing. Centennial can also accept English through previous study, such as two or more full years at a school where English is the main language of instruction, but it decides case by case, so most Nepali applicants send a test score.

If your score is just short, Centennial’s English Language Learning (ELL) program is a pathway in. To compare scores across Canadian colleges, see our IELTS and PTE guide for Canada.

Which documents do you need from Nepal?

Your transcripts and certificates, an English test result and a copy of your passport, uploaded to ApplyCentennial, plus any extras your program asks for.

  • For diplomas and advanced diplomas: your +2 transcript and certificate. Our guide explains how to get transcripts in Nepal from NEB, TU and other boards.
  • For graduate certificates and fast-track programs: your college or university transcripts and your diploma or degree certificate.
  • Certified English translations of any document that isn’t in English, sent with the original.
  • Your IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, Duolingo or CAEL score report.
  • A copy of your passport. If you don’t have one yet, see getting a Nepali passport for study abroad.
  • Program extras, where listed on the program page: a portfolio, a letter of interest, a resume (see our CV guide for university applications) or an online information session.

Centennial may ask for a standardized test from your home country; your admissions assistant will tell you if you need one. Nepali certificates and bank documents often carry Bikram Sambat dates. Our Nepali date converter helps you match them to the A.D. dates on your forms.

How do you apply to Centennial College, step by step?

You apply online through ApplyCentennial, confirm your offer with a CAD 2,000 deposit, then get your PAL and apply for your study permit.

  1. Choose up to two programs and check that each lists your intake as available for international students.
  2. Apply on ApplyCentennial. Enter your personal and academic details, upload your transcripts and passport, and pay the non-refundable CAD 125 application fee.
  3. Get your offer. If you meet the requirements, Centennial sends a Letter of Acceptance (LOA). You can track your status and message your admissions assistant in ApplyCentennial.
  4. Confirm and pay. Pay the CAD 2,000 registration deposit by the deadline on your LOA; it counts toward your tuition. Centennial recommends paying your full first-year tuition early to strengthen your study permit application. To send tuition from a Nepali bank you need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Education; see how to apply for an NOC in Nepal.
  5. Get your Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL). Centennial issues your PAL once your deposit is received. PALs for Summer 2027 programs start in November 2026. Read what a PAL is and who needs one.
  6. Apply for your study permit with your LOA, PAL, payment receipt and proof of funds, plus a statement of purpose explaining your study plan (see our SOP guide for a Canada student visa). If your program has a required co-op, apply for a co-op work permit at the same time.
  7. Finish your pre-arrival steps. Upload your study permit approval to ApplyCentennial, complete headSTART and any Placement Skills Assessment, pay your first-semester fees and register for classes.

If your study permit is refused, Centennial refunds your fees minus a CAD 250 administration fee; our guide to what to do after a Canada visa refusal explains your options. Apply 9 to 12 months before your start date so there is time for the offer, the PAL and your study permit. For the visa stage, read our guides to Canada student visa requirements and proof of funds.
