Centennial College

Centennial College is a public college of applied arts and technology in Toronto, Ontario. Founded in 1966, it was Ontario’s first community college, and it now teaches on five campuses across the east and north of the city.

Why do Nepali students choose Centennial College?

Because it offers practical, career-focused programs in software, networking, engineering technology, health and aviation, many with co-op or applied learning, in Canada’s largest city.

• Diplomas straight after +2. Two- and three-year programs such as Computer Systems Technician – Networking, Electrical Engineering Technician and Software Engineering Technology accept the NEB Higher Secondary Certificate as the equivalent of an Ontario high school diploma.
• One-year graduate certificates. If you already hold a bachelor’s degree or a diploma, programs such as Construction Project Management take a degree in any discipline. Centennial marks it as PGWP aligned.
• Specialist campuses. Health and science programs run at Morningside, transportation at Ashtonbee, media and design at the Story Arts Centre, and aviation at the Bombardier Centre for Aerospace and Aviation in Downsview.
• A big, diverse city. Centennial describes itself as one of the most culturally diverse post-secondary institutions in Canada, and Toronto has the largest job market in the country for part-time work and co-op placements.

Where are Centennial College’s campuses?

All five Centennial campuses are in Toronto. Progress Campus in Scarborough is the main and largest one, and most programs on this page are taught there.

Centennial’s pilot licence program is taught with a training partner, Toronto Airways, at Peterborough Airport. Apart from that, Centennial’s locations page lists only its own campuses, not a private partner college. That matters because IRCC does not give a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) to students who started a public college program at a private partner campus after 15 May 2024. If anyone offers you a “Centennial” program at a different address, check it on Centennial’s own website first.

How much does Centennial College cost for international students?

First-year tuition for 2026-27 is about CAD 18,000 to 23,000 depending on the program, plus ancillary fees.

Most diplomas and advanced diplomas cost CAD 18,005 for the first year, engineering technology, applied science and transportation programs CAD 19,167, and honours degrees CAD 18,375 to 22,803. Check the exact fee for your program on Centennial’s tuition information page, because fees are set each academic year. Co-op programs add a CAD 450 fee and a CAD 350 Canadian workplace orientation fee for each work term.

If your study permit is refused, Centennial refunds your fees minus a CAD 250 administration fee, as set out in its withdrawal and refund policy. Living costs come on top. When are Centennial College’s intakes?

Centennial starts programs in January, May and September, but each program sets its own intakes for international students, so check your program before you plan.

For the current cycle, Centennial is taking international applications for Winter (January) 2027 and Summer (May) 2027. For example, Computer Systems Technician – Networking, Pharmacy Technician and Construction Project Management list both January and May 2027, while Software Engineering Technology lists January 2027.

PALs for Summer 2027 programs start to be issued in November 2026. Aim to apply 9 to 12 months before your start date so there is time for the offer, the PAL, your study permit and travel.

Can you work while studying at Centennial and after you graduate?

Yes. You can work up to 24 hours a week off campus while classes are on, and many Centennial programs lead to a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), but not all of them.

Several programs, such as Software Engineering Technology, also offer an optional co-op term. For the PGWP, the rules depend on your credential:

• Bachelor’s degrees, such as Centennial’s honours degrees, have no field-of-study requirement.
• Diplomas and graduate certificates must be in an eligible field of study if you applied for your study permit on or after 1 November 2024. Centennial shows “PGWP Aligned: Yes” or “No” on every program page and keeps a list of more than 80 PGWP-aligned programs.
• College graduates also need an English test result of at least CLB 5 in all four skills when they apply for the PGWP.

Centennial also gives a full refund, with no administration fee, to students whose program became PGWP ineligible because of the policy change and whose letter of acceptance was issued after 1 October 2024. Our PGWP guide for Nepali students explains each rule.

Which scholarships can Nepali students get at Centennial?

New international students can get a Centennial Entrance Scholarship of CAD 2,000 to 5,000, depending on the length of their program.

How the entrance scholarship works:

• Amount: CAD 2,000 for a one-year program, CAD 3,000 for two years, CAD 4,000 for three years and CAD 5,000 for four years. You get CAD 2,000 in the first year and CAD 1,000 in each later year.
• Who can get it: international students starting their first Centennial program. It isn’t open to students starting with English Language Learning only, and you can hold only one Centennial scholarship (Entrance, Loyalty or Mobility).
• What you have to do: apply, accept your offer and start your main program in an eligible intake. Centennial’s page doesn’t describe a separate scholarship application, so confirm with your admissions assistant.
• When: the current round covers the September 2026 and January 2027 intakes. Watch the entrance scholarship page for later intakes.

What do you need to get into Centennial College from Nepal?

You need your NEB +2 or bachelor’s results and an English score: IELTS 6.0 with no band under 5.5 for most diplomas, or IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0 for graduate certificates, degrees and some advanced diplomas.

PTE Academic minimums are 51 for diplomas, 58 for fast-track and some advanced diplomas, and 60 for graduate certificates and degrees. Pharmacy Technician is stricter: it follows the national pharmacy regulator’s rule of IELTS 7.0 in reading, listening and speaking and 6.5 in writing. If your score is just short, Centennial’s English Language Learning program is a pathway in.

Where do Centennial students live?

You can live in Centennial Place Residence at 937 Progress Avenue, next to Progress Campus, or rent off campus in Toronto.

Centennial Place has fully furnished units, study spaces and lounges, and offers roommate matching. Check current rates and availability on the Centennial Place Residence website.
