This guide lists the Cambrian College programs that Nepali students most often ask about, grouped by course area, with each program’s intakes for international students and PGWP status, checked on Cambrian’s official program pages and PGWP list on 28 September 2026. Which Cambrian programs can Nepali students apply to?

66 Cambrian programs are open to international students for 2027 starts, all taught at the Barry Downe campus in Sudbury. Every one of them has a September 2027 intake, 27 also start in January 2027 and 5 in May 2027.

The programs come in five levels:

• Certificates (1 year) and diplomas (2 years), which you can join straight after NEB +2.
• Advanced diplomas (3 years), also after +2.
• Bachelor’s degrees (3 to 4 years), including Business Administration, Applied Computing, Applied Psychology and Nursing.
• Graduate certificates (8 months to 1 year), for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree or diploma.

Cambrian has no master’s degrees. Seats can fill before the intake, so check the program page before you apply.

Which Cambrian programs are PGWP eligible?

47 of the 66 programs open to international students are on Cambrian’s PGWP-eligible list (last updated 7 January 2026). Business: Accounting, Business: Finance, Business, Professional Accounting Practice and Police Foundations are not.

If you applied for your study permit on or after 1 November 2024, a diploma, advanced diploma or graduate certificate leads to a Post-Graduation Work Permit only if its field of study is eligible. Bachelor’s degrees have no field-of-study rule. You also need CLB 5 in English for college credentials or CLB 7 for degrees.

Cambrian lists each eligible program with its CIP code on its PGWP eligibility page. Other programs open to international students but not on that list include Animation, Design and Visual Arts, Power Engineering, Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Motive Power (Automotive). Which Cambrian programs are popular with Nepali students?

The table shows Cambrian’s programs in the course areas most popular with Nepali and Indian students, up to two per area, with each one’s credential, length and campus.

Programs are grouped by course area, with PGWP-eligible programs and those with the most intakes listed first (see the PGWP section above for which ones qualify). Cambrian starts programs in January, May and September, but each program sets its own intakes, so check the program’s own page for its exact status. What do you need for each program level?

Diplomas need your NEB +2 with the program’s subjects and IELTS 6.0; bachelor’s degrees need about 65% across six Grade 12 subjects and IELTS 6.5; graduate certificates need a related diploma or degree and IELTS 6.5.

• Certificates and diplomas: IELTS 6.0 with no band under 5.5, or PTE 58. Practical Nursing asks for 70% in English, Biology, Chemistry and Math.
• Bachelor’s degrees: IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0, or PTE 58. The BBA asks for six Grade 12 courses, including English and Math, with a 65% average.
• Graduate certificates: IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0, or PTE 61, and usually a diploma or degree in a related field, such as computing for Cybersecurity.

How do you choose the right Cambrian program?

Start with your background and your plan after graduation, then check the program’s PGWP status and intakes before you apply.

• Coming from +2? Look at diplomas, advanced diplomas and bachelor’s degrees. A three-year advanced diploma or a degree gives a longer PGWP than a two-year diploma.
• Already hold a bachelor’s degree? A graduate certificate related to your degree, such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning or Cybersecurity after a computing degree, is the quickest route.
• Want to start in January? 27 programs have a January 2027 intake, including the IT graduate certificates, Practical Nursing and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Plan your budget for Sudbury. Rent is usually lower than in Toronto, and Cambrian has on-campus residence.
