Seneca Polytechnic

This guide lists the Seneca Polytechnic programs that Nepali students can apply to, with each program’s campus, open intakes, PGWP status and first-year tuition, all checked on Seneca’s official lists on 28 September 2026. Which Seneca programs can Nepali students apply to?

Seneca’s list for international applicants has 163 programs. On 24 September 2026, 108 of them were open for January or May 2027, and the September 2026 intake was closed.

The programs come in six levels:

• Certificates (usually 1 year) and diplomas (2 years), which you can join straight after NEB +2.
• Advanced diplomas (3 years), also after +2, often with an optional co-op.
• Bachelor’s degrees (3 to 4 years), after +2 with stronger grades. Seneca has 24, several with co-op.
• Graduate certificates (usually 8 months), for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree or diploma.
• One master’s degree, the Master of Artificial Intelligence Design and Development.

Seneca marks each program as Open, Limited (few seats left), Available (not open yet), Not available or Suspended on its program availability list. An open program can still fill before your file is complete; if it does, Seneca may offer you another open program instead.

Which Seneca programs are PGWP eligible?

87 of Seneca’s 163 international programs are on its PGWP-eligible list, and 55 of those were open for January or May 2027. Many business, marketing, hospitality, HR and accounting programs are not on the list.

If you applied for your study permit on or after 1 November 2024, a diploma, advanced diploma or graduate certificate leads to a Post-Graduation Work Permit only if Seneca lists it as eligible. You also need CLB 5 in English for college credentials or CLB 7 for degrees, and you must take at least half of the program in class. Seneca shows each program’s CIP code on its PGWP-eligible program list (updated 27 August 2026).

These popular programs are open to international students but are not on Seneca’s PGWP list:

• Business Administration: Marketing and Business: Marketing
• Business and Accounting
• Hospitality: Hotel and Restaurant Services Management and Hospitality Foundations
• Creative Advertising and Public Relations: Corporate Communications
• Human Resources Management and Police Foundations

Which Seneca programs are popular with Nepali students?

The table shows Seneca’s programs in the course areas most popular with Nepali and Indian students, up to two per area, with each one’s credential, length and campus.

Programs are grouped by course area, with PGWP-eligible and open programs listed first (see the PGWP section above for which ones qualify). Online-only programs are left out, because they don’t lead to a study permit or a PGWP. Seneca starts programs in September, January and May, but each program sets its own intakes, so check the program’s own page for its exact status.

What do you need for each program level?

From Nepal, diplomas need at least 50% in the program’s required +2 subjects and IELTS 6.0; degrees need 65% in five Grade XII subjects and IELTS 6.5; graduate certificates need a second-division degree or diploma and IELTS 6.5.

• Certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas: IELTS 6.0 with no band under 5.5, or PTE 58.
• Bachelor’s degrees: IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0, or PTE 60. Engineering asks for 70% in English, Calculus, Functions, Physics and Chemistry.
• Graduate certificates and the master’s: IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0, or PTE 60, and usually a degree in a related field for technical programs such as Artificial Intelligence.

How do you choose the right Seneca program?

Start with your background and your plan after graduation, then check the program’s PGWP status, open intakes and campus on Seneca’s lists before you apply.

• Coming from +2? Look at diplomas, advanced diplomas and bachelor’s degrees. A three-year advanced diploma such as Computer Programming and Analysis gives a longer PGWP than a two-year diploma.
• Already hold a bachelor’s degree? A graduate certificate in a field related to your degree, such as Artificial Intelligence after a computing degree, is the quickest route.
• Want work experience? Choose a program with co-op, such as the co-op options of Computer Programming and Analysis and Computer Systems Technology, or Software Engineering, where co-op is mandatory.
• Check the campus. Most programs are at Newnham; biotechnology and design are at Seneca@York, and nursing and community programs at King, north of Toronto.
