Which Conestoga programs can Nepali students apply to?

Conestoga lists 132 programs for international students. 36 of them are open for January 2027 and 25 for May 2027, and most list September 2027 as upcoming.

The programs come in five levels:

  • Certificates (usually 1 year) and diplomas (2 years), which you can join straight after NEB +2.
  • Advanced diplomas (3 years), also after +2, many with optional co-op.
  • Bachelor’s degrees (3 to 4 years), such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Applied Biotechnology and Mechanical Systems Engineering.
  • Graduate certificates (usually 1 year), for students who already hold a diploma or degree.

Conestoga has no master’s degrees. Applications stay open only until a program is full, and some intakes are suspended, so check Conestoga’s programs for international students and its open programs page before you apply. On each program page, the globe icon marks the international offering and shows whether it is open, upcoming, closed or suspended.

Which Conestoga programs are PGWP eligible?

Conestoga’s list has 189 PGWP-aligned programs, and 96 of the 132 programs open to international students are on it. Popular diplomas such as Business – Accounting, Business – Finance and Business – Human Resources are not.

If you applied for your study permit on or after 1 November 2024, a diploma, advanced diploma or graduate certificate leads to a Post-Graduation Work Permit only if its field of study is eligible. Bachelor’s degrees have no field-of-study rule. You also need CLB 5 in English for college credentials or CLB 7 for degrees, and you must take at least half of the program in class.

Conestoga lists each aligned program on its PGWP-aligned programs page, with its program code and CIP code. The page shows no “last updated” date, and it also lists programs that aren’t currently open to international students, so check it together with the program page. These popular programs are open to international students but are not on the list:

Some popular graduate certificates, including Human Resources Management and Professional Accounting Practice, are offered online only, so they can’t lead to a study permit or a PGWP. If you want to work in Canada after you graduate, pick an aligned program such as Supply Chain Management – Global, Financial Technology or Social Media Marketing. Our PGWP guide for Nepali students explains the rules.

Which Conestoga programs are popular with Nepali students?

The table shows Conestoga’s programs in the course areas most popular with Nepali and Indian students, up to two per area, with each one’s credential, length and campus.

Programs are grouped by course area, with PGWP-aligned and open-intake programs listed first within each area (see the PGWP section above for which ones qualify). Conestoga starts programs in September, January and May, but each program sets its own intakes, so check the program’s own page for its exact status.

Practical Nursing is in the table, but international students can’t enter it directly; they must first complete the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas. Fees are shown term by term on each program’s page. See the fee section of our Conestoga College profile for the usual yearly range in CAD and NPR.

What do you need for each program level?

Diplomas and degrees need the NEB +2 certificate with the program’s required subjects, and graduate certificates need a completed diploma or degree; IELTS is 6.0 for diplomas and 6.5 for degrees and graduate certificates.

  • Certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas: IELTS 6.0 with no band under 5.5, or PTE 53. Computer Programming asks for Grade 12 English and Math; a few diplomas, such as Practical Nursing and Business – Insurance, need IELTS 6.5.
  • Bachelor’s degrees: IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0, or PTE 58. The Bachelor of Computer Science asks for six Grade 12 subjects, including English and Math, with at least a 65% average.
  • Graduate certificates: IELTS 6.5 with no band under 6.0, or PTE 58, and usually a related diploma or degree. Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning asks for computer science or software engineering; Supply Chain Management – Global prefers business graduates.

To see where your +2 grades stand, convert your NEB GPA to a percentage with our NEB GPA calculator. Program-by-program examples, documents and the application steps are in our Conestoga admissions guide.

How do you choose the right Conestoga program?

Start with your background and your plan after graduation, then check the program’s PGWP status, open intakes and campus on Conestoga’s own program page before you apply.

  • Coming from +2? Look at diplomas, advanced diplomas and bachelor’s degrees. A three-year advanced diploma such as Computer Programming and Analysis or Civil Engineering Technology gives a longer PGWP than a one-year program.
  • Already hold a bachelor’s degree? A graduate certificate related to your degree, such as Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning after a computing degree or Supply Chain Management – Global after a business degree, is the quickest route.
  • Want a business program? Check PGWP first: Supply Chain Management – Global, Financial Technology and the Bachelor of Business Administration (International Business Management) are aligned, but the Business – Accounting, Finance and Human Resources diplomas are not.
  • Check the campus. Computing programs are at Waterloo, business and health at Kitchener – Doon, and engineering and trades at the two Cambridge campuses. The campus is listed next to each start date on the program page.

Frequently asked questions about Conestoga programs

No. The Business – Accounting, Business – Finance, Business – Human Resources and Business – Marketing diplomas and the Business Administration – Management advanced diploma are not on Conestoga's PGWP-aligned list. If you want to work in Canada after graduating, look at Supply Chain Management – Global, Financial Technology or a Conestoga bachelor's degree, which qualify.

36 programs are open to international students for January 2027, including Computer Programming and Analysis, Cybersecurity Response Planning, Information Technology Project Management, Supply Chain Management – Global, Financial Technology and the Bachelor of Data Analytics. Check Conestoga's open programs page before you apply, because programs close when they are full.

Not directly. International students can't enter Practical Nursing straight away; they must first complete the Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas, and a place afterwards isn't guaranteed. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not on Conestoga's international program list.

Some programs, such as Human Resources Management and Professional Accounting Practice, are delivered online, but online study doesn't lead to a study permit or a PGWP. This guide lists only programs taught on campus, most of them in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge.

Yes. The Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning graduate certificate is for computing graduates, and the Bachelor of Data Analytics and the Bachelor of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (Honours) take students from +2. All three are taught at the Waterloo campus and are PGWP-eligible.
