Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate (Bachelor’s)
UCL usually looks for high marks in +2/NEB (75–85% or above), particularly in subjects related to your course.

Some programs may require A-Levels, IB, or foundation year equivalents.

Medicine and Law are especially competitive and may require entrance tests or interviews.

Postgraduate (Master’s)
A recognised Bachelor’s degree from a Nepali university (TU, KU, PU, Pokhara University, etc.) with at least 65–70% or GPA 3.3+ is standard.

You’ll also need a strong Statement of Purpose (SOP), Letters of Recommendation (LORs), and an updated CV.

Many Nepali students who don’t meet direct entry requirements choose foundation or pre-master’s programs — Goreto helps place you in the right pathway.

Accommodation for Nepali Students at UCL

Housing in London can feel overwhelming at first, but UCL makes the process easier by offering guaranteed halls for most first-year undergraduates and plenty of support for postgraduates.

Many Nepali students also choose shared private flats after their first year.

Here are the main options:

UCL Halls of Residence
Managed by the university, these halls are furnished and usually within walking distance of the main Bloomsbury campus.

Utilities and internet are included.

Intercollegiate Halls (University of London)
Shared accommodation with students from other London universities.

These halls often include meals and are located across central London.

Private Shared Flats
After the first year, many Nepali students move into private shared housing with friends.

Popular areas include Stratford, Wembley, and East Ham — slightly further but more affordable than Bloomsbury.

Homestays
A smaller number of students choose to live with British families, which can be helpful for cultural immersion, though less common among Nepali students.

Goreto helps Nepali students secure safe, budget-friendly housing and even connects new students with potential flatmates before they fly.

Approximate Housing Costs
