About Capilano University

Tucked at the base of the North Shore mountains, Capilano University (capilanou.ca) has built a reputation most people outside British Columbia don’t expect: it’s one of Canada’s best-known training grounds for film, animation, and tourism talent, alongside solid business, health, and arts programs. Founded in 1968 and named for Chief Joe Capilano of the Squamish Nation, the university sits on a wooded campus in North Vancouver, a short bus ride from downtown Vancouver, with a second campus in Squamish.

The Capilano University Library sits at the heart of the North Vancouver campus and is open Monday–Thursday 8 a.m.–10 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.–6 p.m., and Saturday 10:30 a.m.–6 p.m. (closed Sundays and holidays, with extended hours around exam periods). Deadline For Admissions

Capilano University reviews applications on a rolling basis, but competitive programs and campus housing fill up early. As a general rule, Nepali applicants should apply at least 9–12 months ahead of their intended intake — earlier for the January and September intakes, which see the highest demand — to leave enough time for offer processing, study permit approval, and travel planning.

Accommodation For Nepalese Students Studying At Capilano University

On-Campus Accommodation

CapU Residence at the North Vancouver campus (2075 Tantalus Rd) is a newly built six-storey residence with room for 360 students in single and shared units. Each floor has a community kitchen, study space, and common rooms, and the building includes a dining hall with a meal plan. Details and applications go through Capilano’s Student Housing office. A separate residence option is also available at the Squamish campus.
